Blogger Boss is a nine week online course that will give you the tech know-how to take your blog to the next level. Learn how to tame that tech and make your blog professional, engaging, social media savvy and money making to boot!
From the very beginning we’ll share how a website is structured and what does what. How to set up or transfer your blog to WordPress. What each section of your WordPress backend does and how you can use a mixture of recommended plugins (we’re even supplying some that we’ve created!) and some easy HTML & CSS (yep you’re going to learn code!) to tweak that layout to perfection.
We’ll share our tech tips to making the most out of social media (think rich snippets for Pinterest and Open Graph for Facebook and Twitter), how to use SEO to boost your posts’ reach and how to add money makers to your blog like directories, advertising and digital products.
Blogger Boss is the alternative to paying and waiting for a developer to edit your theme for you. Through our nine week course we’ll teach you what to look for in a great theme, how to tweak it to look pro as well as more ideas to bringing your blog to boss level.

I’m Madeleine a web designer, developer, pug mum, blogger and lover of a good white wine.
I started teaching myself how to code at the age of 13 (I’m now closer to 30) when I wanted to make my Neopets (and then MySpace) pages look legit!
Since then I’ve completed a degree in Visual Communication Design, worked for some amazing studios and clients in Australia and overseas and grown a part-time freelance business to a full-time gig.
I’m a Social Media addict, major tech fan girl and can’t wait to meet you!
I’m Eivind. I’m from Norway—the place up North where it snows heaps in winter, we all live in igloos and wrestle polar bears for fun.
Like Madeleine, I started teaching myself to code in my early teens, working in the design industry in Norway until moving to Australia to study Visual Communication Design (and meet a certain Aussie girl) in 2008.
Since University I’ve worked in Award Winning design studios in Sydney bringing digital designs to life for clients like Paspaley, Virgin Mobile and GE.
Two years ago I joined Madeleine to start Hyphen, a boutique web design and development studio.
Madeleine is my top secret tech weapon. She breaks down the often confusing world of tech into something that is clear, easy to understand and dare I say it, even sexy. With a wicked sense of humour and laser-sharp skills, she is my go to source for tech tips and tricks!
One of the biggest obstacles I see getting in the way of new (and even advanced) bloggers is getting overwhelmed or under-prioritising the tech-side of blogging. And sadly, knowing your way around Wordpress, Analytics, Social Media and the other amazing online tools is something every blogger has to master at some point. And I can't think of a better person to help you master your inner nerd than the lovely Madeleine Burke. Not only is she a super-lovely, super-geek, she is also one of the most promising new bloggers I have seen in a long time. This girl created a blog that looked pro from the start, and has grown it amazingly fast since then. Because she just knows her stuff, and I just know that any blogger, new or old, will be able to learn oodles from her and her course.
Outstanding! You've allowed me to easily and simply set up my new website and make me feel like a web developing champion! You have been simple to understand, even easier to implement and haven't overwhelmed me with info. 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to DIY Wordpress site or blog!
